This time of year many of us embark on a series of summer cleaning projects around the home.  But winter can also be a little tough on your vehicle.

Here are some summer cleaning car maintenance tips.

• Clean the undercarriage and engine area. Use a hose to spray under your wheels. Use a dry rag to wipe down exposed surfaces on your engine.
• Summer is a good time to replace your windshield wiper blades; new blades can make a big difference!
• Check the tread on your tires and make sure they are properly inflated. Make note of any unusual wear, especially on the front tires. It could mean you need a wheel alignment.
• Clean the car inside and out thoroughly. Include the trunk, removing any unnecessary weight you may be hauling around.
• Check your car’s fluids including oil, coolant, washer fluid, and transmission fluid. Top them off as necessary. If you are due for a fluid change, now is a good time to get it done.
