Freshen Up The Activity With These Ideas

Decorating Easter Eggs is a great activity for the whole family, but if you just get the standard box of dye year after year it can start to feel a little boring. Fortunately, there is a way you can spice up the activity to keep it fresh and fun for your kids (and for yourself). Here are a few decorating ideas to reveal beautiful, standout eggs.

• Confetti: Get out the Elmer’s glue and your favorite small confetti. With a paint brush, coat your egg with the glue. Then (quickly, before it dries!) roll your egg through your favorite confetti. You can also do this with small seeds to get an organic, perfect-for-spring look.
• Metal: Dye your eggs as usual, and let them dry. Then break out your metallic paint pens and decorate them with silver, gold, and copper stripes, polka dots, and other designs to add a level of bling to your eggs.
• Lace: Get out any scraps of lace you have around the house and wrap eggs tightly in them. Secure with a rubber band and dye as usual. Your egg will come out with the beautiful lace pattern printed on. This also works great with netting and cheesecloth.
• Chalkboard: Paint your egg with chalkboard paint and let dry. Then, give the eggs to the kids along with chalk and let them go crazy! This is a great option with young ones because it makes a minimal mess.
• Washi Tape: These days, washi tape comes in lots of fun colors and patterns. Create eye-catching patterns on your eggs with washi tape.
