One of the things people never consider gifting to someone is insurance. So it is up to you to get the right insurance to cover all the new gift items you received this year.
While many people believe their homeowners insurance will cover their new electronics and expensive jewelry, remember that you obtained the insurance policy when you had all your old items. The coverage amount on the policy may not cover the new items you received, as you won’t be compensated the amount you want to fully pay for the items you may lose during a natural disaster or theft.
Insuring jewelry, furniture, electronics, clothing and other items should be the first things on your list. Check out the limits on your homeowners policy and see whether your new possessions are covered. Then you can get additional personal belonging protection and valuables insurance to cover your new items into the new year.
